Here are a few examples:

Start with a hot and sweet fruit salsa appetizer made with kiwi, strawberries, apples, and onions with a kick of cayenne pepper and cilantro. The salsa is packed with Vitamin C and ingredients that whiten and scrub the teeth, massage the gums, and stimulate saliva to dilute sugars and acids.

A good crunchy chopped salad recipe can be modified with your favorite salad ingredients. Just keep the celery which will activate saliva production which in turn will allow food particles to wash away more easily. The celery will also massage the gums to stimulate circulation. This recipe teaches the value of onions which contain sulfur compounds that kill streptococcus bacteria, a common cause of tooth decay.

For main dishes, there is first a marinated wild salmon fillet with quinoa. The wild salmon is high in Omega-3 which reduces inflammation in the gums while the high calcium content in the quinoa helps to maintain tooth integrity. The quinoa is also high in fiber and protein and low in cholesterol.

A second main dish is shiitake mushroom chicken with millet. Already carrying the reputation of an immune system booster, shiitakes contain lentinan which studies have shown prevents oral bacteria from causing plaque.

A great sounding side dish with surprising power is the broccoli with wasabi sour cream sauce. If someone is a cola drinker, a little tooth enamel wears away quickly each time they drink one. If someone eats broccoli before drinking a coke, the iron in the broccoli forms a protective barrier over the tooth enamel cutting the cola’s corrosive power in half!

Finish up the meal with a light refreshing strawberry-lemon sorbet sweetened with stevia. Aside from topping off a good meal, the strawberries are packed with Vitamin C, which supports gum and tooth integrity and are also good tooth scrubbers. The lemon is essential for helping to maintain a proper ph balance in the body. Stevia is a natural sweetener with none of the corrosive effects of sugar.
