How Can I Get Rid of Yellow Teeth?

before and after teeth whitening close-upBy far the most effective and quickest way to get whiter teeth is to schedule an in-office appointment with a dentist. They use a whitening solution that is far stronger than anything available over the counter. Further, they also have the technical expertise and equipment necessary to protect sensitive gum tissues.

It generally takes less than one hour to receive a professional teeth whitening treatment in the office. You will leave with a smile that is several shades whiter than when you came. Plus, your dentist may provide you with a take-home whitening gel so you can enjoy your results longer. Remember– you will eventually need another professional teeth whitening treatment, these results do not last forever.

Take-home trays are customized for your smile

Although in-office is the fastest and most effective way, some patients prefer the take-home treatment. Your cosmetic dentist will create custom-made whitening trays using impressions made of your teeth. They can also customize the strength of the whitening gel (in your choice of flavor). You will then wear the trays for 30 minutes per day for up to 10 days.

Lifestyle modifications can help you maintain your results

After enjoying the benefits of a professionally whitened smile, you probably want to keep it looking beautiful for a long time to come. Eventually, you will require touch-up treatments at the cosmetic dentist’s office. However, you can lengthen the amount of time between appointments by making a few simple lifestyle changes.

There are many foods and beverages that can stain your teeth, including coffee, tea, soda, wine, blueberries, beets, and even soy sauce. Tomato sauce and juice can also stain your teeth. While it may not be practical (or healthy from a nutritional standpoint) to avoid all pigmented foods and beverages, you can limit their impact by brushing your teeth soon after consumption.
